After the Leaves Have Fallen

It always disappoints me every year after the leaves fall and the autumn season gradually transitions into winter. I’m not a huge fan of cold breezes or snow, but with a surprisingly warmer winter this year, I don’t have much to complain about. It’s funny how I can easily walk out with a light coat and be absolutely comfortable, when the same time last year I was bundling up and wondering how to drive on icy roads.

During the winter time, I often find myself wearing lots of dark shades, especially black. This year I’ve come to include a lot more gold hues into my outfits, and this gold dotted skirt from Francesca’s is one of my favorites. It beats the traditional black and white polka dot pattern with that extra shine and I just can’t get enough of the glimmer of gold which probably means you’ll be seeing more of it on me.

Ringing in the New Year

Dress: Shabby Apple | Belt: Japan | Bracelet: Fossil | Shoes: Jessica Simpson

Hope everyone had a great start to 2012! The new year is always a great time to reflect and try to start something new or different. And hopefully, this year will be something to look forward to!

As for trying out something different, I usually don’t wear extremely form-fitting dresses, but I’m really loving this one that I received from Shabby Apple. It fits like a glove and I love the design! They really have a great collection of dresses, so visit their website and read more of my review about Shabby Apple here.

Little Black Dress

Dress: Anthropologie | Belt: Anthropologie | Headband: J. Crew | Bracelet: Fossil | Shoes: Nine West

Every girl has her favorite little black dress and this one from Anthropologie happens to mine. I love the detail of the bottom skirt and how the beige and black go so well together. And another reason why I love this dress is because I wore it to one of my first dates with my boyfriend and it brings back good memories. :)

And I can’t leave without mentioning how much I adore these Nine West Mary Janes! I’m rather picky when it comes to shoes, so it’s an understatement when I say that I was thrilled when I received these shoes from Nine West. These Mary Janes are extremely cute and exactly what I’ve been looking for.

Prep School Blazer

Blazer: Zara | Top: Rope Picnic | Pants: Uniqlo | Necklace: Tiffany’s | Headband: Anthropologie

If there’s anything I learned from growing up and wearing school uniforms, then it’s got to be the importance of having a good blazer in your closet. I love how a solid blazer can tone down a girly outfit into a more sophisticated one or how there are endless combinations making it impossible to go wrong when wearing one.

On a side note: I don’t think you can ever be too old to play with teddy bears. :) Ever since I was a little girl, I was always charmed by stuffed animals and I’d beg my parents to buy me them all the time. And I still haven’t changed. The one I’m holding in the first photo is Fluffy and I have a feeling that you’ll be seeing him or my other cuddly friends again.

A Stroll in the Park

Top: NY & Co. | Skirt: YesStyle | Necklace: Vintage | Shoes: Kenneth Cole Reaction

Strolls in parks are the funnest during nice breezy days. This is one of my favorite areas to take a walk in my city because the landscape is just beautiful. During the spring, the area is flooded with lovely cherry blossoms later to become sunny green trees. And in the fall, you experience a large array of orange and red leaves to welcome you to the new season. So it’s probably easy to see why I love this place so much throughout the year.

I’m the type of girl that obsesses over killer heels and is always eager to try them on, but in reality I love my flats the best. Since I’m a college student, I frequently walk across campus multiple times a day, making heels rather impractical. So flats are my best friend during days where walking distances is inevitable. And besides, who can resist a comfortable pair of cute shoes?
